Redwood City Police Identify Fatal Hit-and-Run Victim

The driver of the vehicle who hit and killed 52-year-old Vauncelia Thornz on Marshall Street on Saturday, is still at large.

A pedestrian struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Redwood City Saturday evening has been identified.

Vauncelia Thornz, 52, was hit by a minivan in the 1200 block of Marshall Street around 7:10 p.m., according to police.

Thornz, who has no fixed address and appears to be a transient, was found lying on the ground and pronounced dead.

According to police, witnesses said a dark colored minivan struck him. A male driver was in the car and drove off after the crash.
