Police Pursuit Begins in San Mateo, Ends in Redwood City

Patch reader James Lee sent us this video of the aftermath of a police pursuit Wednesday evening that began in San Mateo and ended on Walnut Street in Redwood City.

A swarm of San Mateo Police cars surrounded a small white car at the end of the pursuit, between the Evernote headquarters and Kohls at the end of Walnut Street.

Likely from the long pursuit, the suspects' white car was smoking when it finally stopped, and the Redwood City Police Department was called in to hose down the car as a precaution, as seen in the above video.

Though it is still unclear why the suspects were being pursued, witnesses said they saw at least one young Hispanic male being handcuffed and put into the back of a police car. Other witnesses said they saw more than one suspect.

Patch is attempting to gain more information on the incident from police, and will update this story as more information becomes available.
