Police Hunt for Man Who Started Fire at Taft Elementary

The man was caught in a surveillance photo. Can you help identify him?

The Redwood City Police Department is searching for a man who set a small fire at Taft Elementary School on New Year's Eve.

According to Detective Dave Cirina, the suspect lit a garbage can on fire, causing an adjacent receptacle to ignite as well.

The suspect was caught on surveillance footage, in the photo above.

Police say he appears to be around 17 to 22 years old, with a thin mustache, and was seen wearing a distinctive Raiders cap with ear flaps.

On RCPD's Facebook page, Cirina said the man "was seen in surveillance video just prior to the fire, and our department would like the public's help to identify this person of interest."
