Police Blotter: Food Fight Sparks Cabbie Argument

Read excerpts from the Redwood City Police Department's call log.

Monday

7:27 a.m. - Vandalism - An unknown suspect broke some side view mirrors on cars parked on El Camino Real.

8 a.m. - Stolen Car - A gray Honda Accord coup was reported stolen from Marshall Street.

10:02 a.m. - Petty Theft - Someone pried open the gate to a construction site on Linden Street and stole a power cord and some temporary lights.

2:13 p.m. - Residential Burglary - An unknown suspect broke into a home through a rear window and stole cash and a laptop.

3:50 p.m. - Disturbance - A man on Cassia Street grew angry at a neighbor over her placement of some garbage cans and threw them in the street. He also cussed at her.

6:03 p.m. - Disturbance - A man, possibly in his 20s, wearing a brown hood, was shooting at people in the skate park on Nevada Street and Madison Avenue with a BB gun.

10:17 p.m. - Domestic Violence - A woman in her 50s reported that a man was yelling and cussing at her on Roosevelt Street, and reportedly hit her.

 

 

Tuesday

1:56 a.m. - Shots Fired - Someone heard two gun shots near Murray Court and Woodside Road.

7:07 a.m. - Petty Theft - An unknown suspect entered an unlocked car and stole an iPod, sunglasses and other miscellaneous items. Car was parked on Eagle Hill Terrace.

2:44 p.m. - Suspicious Person - A transient wearing army clothing at Veterans Boulevard and Whipple Avenue was reportedly selling American flags for cash without a permit.

4:52 p.m. - Disorderly Conduct - Arrest - Police arrested a transient man with a long beard near the train tracks at Chestnut and Shasta Streets for being drunk in public. Someone saw him passed out on the street.

8:30 p.m. - Stolen Car - Someone reported a 1991 brown Honda Accord stolen from Broadway.

10:04 p.m. - Stray Animal - Someone reported two loose pitbulls running around Madison Avenue and Clinton Street. One of them almost bit a man's dog.

 

Wednesday

1:42 a.m. - Disorderly Conduct - Police arrested someone at Rolison and Marsh Roads for being drunk in public.

3:38 a.m. - DUI - Police arrested someone at Veterans Boulevard and Woodside Road for drunken driving.

4:59 a.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A man saw two people in a brown Honda Accord, parked in a driveway on St. Francis Street, pushing and shoving each other in the front seat.

6:38 a.m. - Stolen Car - Someone reported a brown 1997 Nissan Altima stolen from Willow Street.

 

Thursday

3:36 a.m. - DUI - Police arrested someone on Marshall Street for drunken driving.

11:19 a.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A man and woman got into an argument in bank on Redwood Shores Parkway and the altercation continued outside in the parking lot. The man reportedly bit her, pushed her and then took her cell phone. He left in a blue Toyota 4Runner.

4:47 p.m. - Petty Theft - An unknown suspect stole gasoline from a site somewhere on Delaware Avenue the night before.

5:49 p.m. - Indecent Exposure - A man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans was walking around Laurel and Hilton Streets with his pants down.

9:30 p.m. - Suspicious Person - A man knocked on a door on Kentfield Avenue and asked for directions. After the woman told the man how to get to Roosevelt Street, he turned around and sat on her front porch. 

10:22 p.m. - Strong-Arm Robbery - A man told police three people jumped him on Woodside Road and took his wallet.

 

Friday

7:42 a.m. - Commercial Burglary - Some unknown suspects were caught on video breaking into a commercial property by cutting a gate lock with bolt cutters. Crime happened the night before, but it's unknown if they took anything.

10:29 a.m. - Petty Theft / Shoplifting - Police cited a male and female juvenile for shoplifting after they allegedly stole something from a store on Roosevelt Avenue and tried to run from the scene.

2:24 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - A neighbor noticed that two males were hanging around on Fifth Avenue, apparently peering into yards. Both were gone when police arrived.

3:31 p.m. - Medical Aid - Police called medics to asset with a transient man passed out in parking lot on Woodside Road.

4:04 p.m. - Suspicious Person - A man heard his neighbor's house alarm trigger and then watched a man wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt leave the area, at Redwood and Virginia Avenues, carrying a white plastic bag.

8:33 p.m. - Residential Burglary - A neighbor called police after hearing a neighbor claim that he or she had detained two juveniles after they reportedly tried to burglarize a home on Foss Drive.

 

Saturday

6:26 a.m. - Commercial Burglary - An employee arrived to work and found the front door kicked in at the business on Main Street. He was unsure if anything had been stolen.

10:11 a.m. - Vehicle Burglary - An unknown suspect smashed a front passenger car window and stole a black "Longchamp" purse.

3:22 p.m. - Disturbance - A taxi driver reported that another cabbie on James Avenue threw a burrito into his cab during an argument, making a mess.

3:22 p.m. - Disturbance - Five males were drinking and smoking in a carport on Alden Street and playing loud music. Some of them were dancing around in their underwear.

7:16 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - A two-year-old child was reportedly walking along in the street at Bay Road and 12th Avenue.

10:24 p.m. - Domestic Violence - A 19-year-old woman reported that her 22-year-old boyfriend hit her in the face. Police later arrested the man. The couple have a child together.

 

 

Sunday

2:54 a.m. - Domestic Violence - A woman, six months pregnant, reported that her husband hit her in her face and body. Police later arrested the man.

12:22 p.m. - Disorderly Conduct - Police arrested someone on Middlefield Road for being drunk in public.

4:37 p.m. - Disturbance - Someone on Bleinheim told police that he or she was pepper sprayed by an unknown suspect.

6:28 p.m. - Armed Robbery - A dark-skinned man reportedly robbed someone on El Camino Real with a weapon.

8:56 p.m. - Disturbance - A woman doing laundry on Main Street told police a man was staring at her and then started throwing money in her face

11:28 p.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A daughter reported that her father's unwanted ex-girlfriend returned to their home and started an argument with him.
