Police Blotter, 12/22 - 12/26

Highlights from the past week's Redwood City police media logs.

 Wednesday, Dec. 22


 3:23 a.m. - Disturbance - A man called police while driving on Industrial Road near Highway 101 to report that subjects in three different cars might be following him after an argument he had with one of the drivers. Redwood City police transferred the case to the San Carlos Police Department.

 11:51 a.m. - Car Accident - A car and an ambulance got into an accident on El Camino Real. No one was injured but the cars were damaged.

12:12 p.m. - Car Burglary - An unknown suspect broke into a car parked on Cardiff Lane and stole an iPod and a set of house keys.

12:58 p.m. - Disturbance - Two people got into an argument over who had the right to pan handle at a spot near Broadway and Woodside Road. The two were gone when police arrived.

3:22 p.m. - Disturbance - Police received reports that a group of juveniles had dogs running loose on Massachusetts Avenue and that one of the animals knocked over a woman's granddaughter. 

3:59 p.m. - Indecent Exposure / Arrest - Police arrested a homeless man who was masturbating and watching his laptop in a restaurant on Middlefield Road.

 

Thursday, Dec. 23

12:18 a.m. - Domestic Violence -  A woman called police to report that her boyfriend was trying to throw her out of a house and also threatened her with a knife. Police overheard a man in the background saying she was lying.

8:25 a.m. - Person Down - Police received reports of a man laying in a driveway on Emerald Hill Road.

10:32 a.m. - Grand Theft - A woman reported a stolen purse from Wednesday night on Middlefield Road. She told police that her phone has a GPS tracking system.

5:06 p.m. - Disturbance - Police took a report of a fight on Connecticut Drive between six or seven family members. Extent of injuries were unknown.

 

Friday, Dec. 24

9:06 a.m. - Suspicious Person - A subject dressed in black and riding a bicycle with a Christmas bag hanging from the handlebars was seen peering into parked vehicles. People also saw the person circle the area on Harrison Avenue on the bicycle at least three times. Police were not able to locate the person.

11:19 a.m. - Suspicious Person - Someone reported that a man wearing a black coat and pants on Broadway tried to sell the person marijuana.

2:50 p.m. - Domestic Violence - A man was reportedly grabbing his girlfriend by the neck in an effort to prevent her from exiting his car.

4:21 p.m. - Disturbance - A person called police to report that a man was sleeping on the sidewalk near a restaurant at Cassia Street and Middlefield Road. He told police we was worried the sleeping man might get cold later in the night.

4:33 p.m. - Petty Theft - Someone reported the fraudulent use of a credit card.

8:02 p.m. - Annoying / Obscene Phone Calls - A woman on Oak Avenue was receiving annoying phone calls from an ex-friend.

 

Saturday, Dec. 25

2:49 a.m. - Shots Fired - Someone reported hearing gunshots near Fair Oaks Avenue.

2:56 a.m. - Suspicious Circumstances -Someone reported hearing what may have been a person tapping on the person's side window. Police arrived and found nothing out of the ordinary. 

5:38 a.m. - Shots Fired - Someone reported hearing gunshots near Oakside and Northside. Police referred the case to another agency.

10:17 a.m. - Car Burglary - Someone reported a car burglary from Friday night that occurred on El Camino Real. The suspect made off with Christmas presents and the car's registration.

8:56 p.m. - Disturbance - Someone called police to report that a group of subjects always smoke marijuana and hang out in the same spot on Spring Street south of Chestnut Street.

 

Sunday, Dec. 26

1:10 a.m. - Shots Fired - Someone reported hearing three gunshots near Lucerne Avenue.

1:54 a.m. - DUI - Police arrested a man for drunken driving near Middlefield Road and Chestnut Street.

2:30 p.m. - Residential Burglary - An unknown suspect broke a front window on Rolison Road, entered the home and stole DVDs and Christmas presents.

3:46 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - A person returned home on Avocet Drive after a vacation and found a note pinned to the freezer. It read "I don't like you." There was no sign of forced entry.

7:57 p.m. - Petty Theft - Police arrested someone for shoplifting on Veterans Boulevard.  

8:01 p.m. - Residential Burglary - A person reported a break-in on Rolison Road.

9:18 p.m. - Fireworks Discharge - Someone heard a loud explosion, possibly fireworks, on McGarvey Avenue.
