Man Killed by Freight Train Identified
The accident occurred Monday night in Palo Alto.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man who was killed by a freight train Monday night.
He was Samir Mathur, 22, of Palo Alto. The Coroner’s Office did not release a specific address.

Mathur was struck by a Union Pacific Railroad Co. freight train at 9:30 p.m. on the Caltrain tracks near Churchill Avenue, according to Caltrain Spokeswoman Jayme Ackemann.
