RWC Resident Smashes Stepbrother In The Head

 

A 46-year-old Redwood City man was arrested over the weekend for
hitting his stepbrother in the head with a hammer, according to police.

Officers went to Sequoia Hospital at about 6:45 a.m. on Sunday
after receiving a report that a man was being treated for head injuries
stemming from an assault, according to Redwood City police.

The victim, a 48-year-old Redwood City resident, said he was
struck in the head with a hammer by his stepbrother, who was identified as
Lawrence Buffington.

The victim was treated for his injuries and released from the
hospital.

Detectives found Buffington in the 2600 block of Middlefield Road
at about 10 a.m., police said.

During an interview, the suspect allegedly admitted to assaulting
his stepbrother during an argument.

Buffington was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and
violating parole, police said.
