Man Suspected of Robbing Donut Shop, 7-11 at Knifepoint Arrested
The Happy Donut shop on El Camino Real in Redwood City was robbed early Tuesday morning.

A man was arrested after allegedly robbing a Redwood City donut shop early Tuesday morning while wearing a mask and armed with a knife, police said.
At about 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, the knife-wielding man entered Happy Donuts at 1330 El Camino Real, police said. He confronted an employee and demanded money from the cash register.
The victim gave the robber the money and the suspect then left on foot, police said.
Officers arrived at the scene, and a witness described the suspect and told police which way he had gone.
They began a search and found the suspect, 20-year-old Parker Ames, of San Mateo. He was in possession of the cash stolen from Happy Donuts, according to police.
Ames was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail.
He has also been identified as a suspect in the armed robbery of a 7-Eleven in San Mateo last week, police said.
In that case, a male wearing a skull mask, a tan military-style jacket, and dark pants confronted a clerk at the 7-Eleven at 501 N. San Mateo Drive around 12:45 a.m. Friday, according to police.
The suspect threatened the clerk with a large knife and demanded money. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot, heading south on San Mateo Drive, police said.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect that day. He was described as a white male around 6 feet tall and approximately 180 pounds with brown hair.
