A fire has gutted one apartment and damaged at least three others Friday afternoon.
The fire erupted in a six-unit apartment building at 635 Laurel St. in the Redwood Village neighborhood, across the street from the Fair Oaks Children's Clinic and Hoover elementary school just before 4 p.m. Friday, the RCFD and MPFPD told the Mercury.
The fire has reportedly destroyed the second-floor studio apartment where it began, and damaged at least three other units that the blaze spread to before the RCFD and MPFPD could extinguish the blaze.
Menlo Park Battalion Chief Ben Marra told the Mercury that all residents of the building had already evacuated by the time firefighters arrived on the scene, and that no injuries have been reported.
