Female Found Dead in Redwood City Apartment

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to her death.

Redwood City Police detectives are investigating what led to the death of a female who was found in a local apartment late Sunday night.

At approximately 11 p.m. Sunday, Redwood City police officers and Redwood City Fire Department personnel responded to an apartment in the 1100 block of 2nd Avenue on a report of an unconscious female.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they located the unconscious female inside of an apartment. The officers and paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim but were unsuccessful.

The victim, whom Redwood City Police officers say was 35 years old, was pronounced dead at 11:31 p.m.

Redwood City detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. The woman's cause of death is unknown at this time, and an autopsy is pending, according to Redwood City Police Lt. Sean Hart.
