A lone suspect entered the Chase Bank on Laurel Street in San Carlos(just south of Olive Street) on Tuesday afternoon and handed a note to the teller demanding cash and saying he had a gun.
At about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, San Mateo County Public Safety Communications received a 911 call from the Chase Bank in San Carlos reporting that they had just been robbed.
According to a spokesperson for the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and he fled out the front door onto Laurel Street. No witnesses reported seeing a vehicle associated with the suspect.
Sheriff’s deputies searched the area for the suspect who is described as a Caucasian male in his 30’s, approximately 6’ tall and thin. He was last seen wearing a light colored baseball hat, sunglasses and a dark jacket.
Deputies say the suspect matches a similar description of the person who robbed this same bank on Jan. 5.
Investigators will be examining surveillance video from both robberies in an effort to identify the suspect.
