Blotter: 'Road Rage' Fistfight in the Middle of the Road

The following information was supplied by the Redwood City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 5

1:38 a.m. - Assault: Occured on Broadway. A man said he had just been assaulted, and was now chasing the suspect down the street toward the train station. Arrest made.

1:41 a.m. - Vandalism: Occured on Main Street. The roof of a man's convertible was slashed. No suspect info. Report taken.

1:53 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Maple Street. A woman returned to her car to find an unknown male sitting in her passenger seat. She said she opened the door and yelled at him, and he pushed her and then fled. Arrest made.

8:15 a.m. - Disturbance/Truancy: Occured on Massachusetts Avenue. A woman called to say she was having an issue with her daughter - she is refusing to go to school. The mother said they are sitting in their vehicle parked in front of the school.

3:06 p.m. - Petty Theft: Occured on Goodwin Avenue. Report of cash stolen from a teacher's purse. Possible suspect info. Report taken.

6:36 p.m. - Suspicious Person/Public Nudity: Occured on E. Bayshore Road. Report of a naked male sitting against the wall outside the entrance to the RV repair business.

9:10 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Broadway. Report of a group of gang members arguing in a restaurant. Call-taker could hear screaming in the background.

9:22 p.m. - Assault & Battery: Occured on Roosevelt Avenue. Man said he was jumped by a group of three males. Believes it was gang-related. Report taken.

 

Tuesday, Nov. 6

2:44 a.m. and 5:33 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured on El Camino Real. Reporting party said a white male in his 30s has been asleep at a table in the cafe area for a while. He has been asked to leave several times but refuses. He eventually left but at 5:33 a.m. he returned with to friends, and the three sat down in the cafe area and again refused to leave.

7:47 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Hilton Street. Womancalled to report her ex was harassing her from outside her home, and now was trying to kick her front door in. 

11:51 a.m. - Suspicious Persons/Circumstances: Occured on Fay Street. Reporting person saw three black males and one Hispanic male walking toward a neighbor's house and then all put up their hoods to cover their faces. Possiblr gang activity. 

2:49 p.m. - Petty Theft: Occured on Haven Avenue. Three lawn chairs and a table were taken from a front yard overnight. 

3:45 p.m. - Terrorist Threats: Occured on El Camino Real. Report of a white male walking out thr front door of a store, making threats toward people in store. Described as having brown hair and wearing a brown camoflauge jacket. Arrest made.

4:06 p.m. - Suspicious Person: Occured on Veterans Blvd. Black male seen entering offices and rifling through desks. Does not appear to work there. Report taken.

4:56 p.m. - Intoxicated Person: Occured on El Camino Real. Subject is very drunk and walking into oncoming traffic. Arrest made.

6:33 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured at Jefferson and Valota. Possible road rage incident. Five to six subjects yelling and screaming at each other whie blocking a lane of the street. Subjects fistfighting. Gone upon officers' arrival.

10:07 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Broadway. Subject approaching vehicles in the drive-thru. Described as white male with hair tied back, wearing dark pants and shirt.

10:13 p.m. - Reckless Drivers: Occured on Whipple Avenue and El Camino Real. Report of a silver Jetta swerving, tailgating and driving the wrong way down the street. Gone upon officers' arrival.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 7

4:59 a.m. - Attempted Vehicle Burglary: Occured on Madrone Street. Hispanic male on a red bike took off toward El Camino. Wearing a gray sweatsuit with a football logo on the front. Arrest made.

7:05 a.m. - Attempted Vehicle Burglary/Suspicious Person: Occured on Marine Parkway. Subject seen trying to jimmy open the locks on a blue truck in the parking lot. Described as a Hispanic male wearing a gray hoodie and a baseball cap.

11:03 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Hudson Street. A Hispanic male wearing a black shirt and riding a blue bike had a pit bull with him. The subject refused to put the pit bull on a leash or pick up after its messes.

3:01 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Broadway. Passers-by are reporting seeing two white males beating up a third white male.

3:03 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured at Hudson Street and Woodside Road. A caller reports her cousin was just beaten up by four juveniles and two adult males. Last seen on foot on Hudson going northbound.

5:14 p.m. - Grand Theft: Occured on Veterans Blvd. Theft of a ring. Report taken.

6:00 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Occured on Barnegat Lane. Elderly resident not seen in at least a week, mail is starting to pile up and TV and lights on for several days. Report taken.

7:17 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Clinton Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Reporting party in green Toyota Tercel said he/she is being harassed over a parking issue by another party in a dark Ford truck.

7:28 p.m. - Shoplift: Occured on Veterans Blvd. Arrest made.
