Blotter: Man Finds Sleeping Transient in His Motel Room

The following information was supplied by the Redwood City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday

2:07 a.m. - Battery - A woman claimed that she was assaulted by an unknown suspect while walking on Whipple Avenue. She had no visible injuries.

11:22 a.m. - Disturbance - An employer on Oddstad Drive called police to report that a former employee was on the property and refusing to leave.

2 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - A gun shot victim was brought to the Kaiser Permanente emergency room on Veterans Boulevard.

7:11 p.m. - Disturbance - A resident on Broadway reported hearing a 3-year-old boy screaming repeatedly while running in and out of an apartment. The caller suspected abuse.

10:17 p.m. - Disturbance - A hotel worker on El Camino Real called police after getting into an argument with a guest. She reported that the man became very angry and then grabbed her arm and squeezed her. He returned to his room, but she still feared for her safety, she told police.

 

Wednesday

2:55 a.m. - Disturbance / Domestic Issue - A man called 911 from an unknown location to report that his ex-girlfriend showed up at his home and was refusing to leave.

9:03 a.m. - Disturbance - A resident reported that some transients were sleeping on a PG&E property on Oddstand Road.

10:14 a.m. - Car Burglary - A an unknown suspect entered an unlocked car on Scott Avenue and stole several items.

11:34 a.m. - Shoplifting - Police arrested someone for shoplifting on Veterans Boulevard.

5:58 p.m. - Home Burglary - An unknown suspect broke into a home on Adams Street and stole a laptop.

10:14 p.m. - Suspicious Person - A woman spotted a person on Massachusetts Avenue who seemed to be scoping out a commercial building for a possible break-in. She then reported that she heard a crowbar hit the ground.

 

Thursday

8:02 a.m. - Suspicious Person - An unknown and unwanted person showed up at someone's door on Alameda De Las Pulgas and refused to leave.

12:06 p.m. - Home Burglary - An unknown suspect broke into a home on Nueva Avenue and stole a laptop, cash, jewelry and other items.

4:41 p.m. - Disturbance - A resident reported seeing an Asian woman yelling at her two children on Chestnut Street. She reportedly hit one of them too.

8:15 p.m. - Vandalism - Two teenagers started punching and kicking a parked car at El Camino Real and Broadway for no reason.

10:55 p.m. - Disturbance - A 29-year-old drunken tenant on Harrison Avenue was reportedly causing problems.

 

Friday

2:33 a.m. - Disturbance - Four people were reportedly loitering and drinking on Willow Street.

7:54 p.m. - Suspicious Person - A resident spotted a man in his 30s, with long hair, walking between parked cars on St. Francis Street, looking into their windows.

6:37 p.m. - Disturbance - An unwanted ex-boyfriend came to his ex-girlfriend's house on Canyon Road and started banging on her door. He was apparently upset about child custody papers.

9:40 p.m. - Commercial Burglary - An unknown suspect stole a Halloween costume from a business on Commercial Way and Brewster Avenue and then fled toward a nearby gas station. 

 

Saturday

1:55 a.m. - Reckless Drivers - Someone reported seeing three cars racing in a business parking lot near Radio Road and Redwood Shores Parkway.

9:21 a.m. - Disturbance - A man was reportedly yelling at people and himself while walking near Elwood Street and Brewster Avenue.

11:36 a.m. - Court Order Violation - During a child custody exchange on Maple Street, the father spoke to his ex-wife, who then claimed he violated a restraining order by doing so.

8:06 p.m. - Shots Fired - A resident near 15th Avenue and Page Street reported hearing four shots from a pistol and then a single shot, possibly from a shotgun. 

9:21 p.m. - Petty Theft - A suspect was caught on video stealing someone's camera in a business on Veterans Boulevard. The store workers found the video and then secured the suspect's personal information from a receipt.

11:20 p.m. - Shots Fired - A resident near Oregon and Virginia Avenues reported hearing 14 gun shots, six from a large caliber weapon and the rest possibly from a .22 caliber gun.

 

Sunday

12:35 a.m. - Suspicious Person - Someone checked into a motel room on Veterans Boulevard and found a transient sleeping in it.

1:12 a.m. - Disturbance - A resident reported seeing a group of six or eight people fighting on Main Street. One reportedly had a gun and another was wielding a knife.

1:08 p.m. - Disturbance - A drunken man was reportedly stumbling and falling as he walked down the street near Valotta Road and Oak Avenue.

8:49 p.m. - DUI / Arrest - Police arrested someone for drunken driving on Oak Avenue and Cleveland Street.

9:16 p.m. - Battery - A woman reported being punched by an unknown suspect as she stood waiting to cross El Camino Real. She refused medical attention.
