Blotter: Burglaries - Robbery at Knifepoint, House Ransacked

The following information was supplied by the Redwood City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 19

1:02 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Stafford Street. Man exited his cab without paying the fare, cab driver called 9-1-1. 

8:26 a.m. - Possible Attempted Vehicle Burglary: Occured on Hess Road. Vehicle owner reported his ignition has been tampered with, thinks someone may have tried stealing his car overnight. Report taken.

8:26 a.m. - Vandalism: Occured on Rolison Road. Vehicle egged overnight. Owner had possible suspect info. Report taken.

10:08 a.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Occured on Myrtle Street. Screens removed from two windows in home. Possible attempted burglary. No suspect info. Report taken.

11:47 a.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: Occured on Sea Cliff Lane. Resident in first stages of Alzheimer's asked someone to call 9-1-1 for her, because she thought someone was in her home.

2:14 p.m. - Indecent Exposure: Occured on Roosevelt Avenue. Person reported seeing a white male in a baseball cap in the covered picnic area with his pants down urinating.

4:38 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Barkentine Lane. Neighbor dispute over parking. Code enforcement had marked car, neighbor upset and yelling threats.

4:56 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Main Street. A white male around 5'10" wearing a tan baseball cap and a dark hoodie was reported tampering with restaurant furniture. Last seen going southbound on Stambaugh.

6:34 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on James Avenue. Report of a car on the northbound tracks. Occupied by a white female wearing a black tank top, believed to be a transient. Woman was drunk and had passengers in the car.

7:21 p.m. - Residential Burglary: Occured on Sussex Way. Residential burglary occured sometime between noon and 6 p.m. Point of entry was screen removed from rear window of house. Upstairs ransacked. Coins and other miscellaneous items taken. Suspect's footprint found on a bucket used to stand on and reach window. Report taken.

9:21 p.m. - Attempted Robbery: Occured across from supply store on Woodside and Middlefield roads. Person reported a suspect pulled a knife on him or her. Possible description: Hispanic male, early 20s, wearing large gold chain, white shirt, long pants or shorts. Report taken.

 

Saturday, Oct. 20

12:04 a.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Roosevelt Avenue. Woman reported four male subjects arguing in front of her home. She does not recognize them.

12:37 a.m. - Assault: 21-year-old female reported she was struck by someone with a beer bottle. She is bleeding.

1:36 a.m. - Occupied Suspicious Vehicle: Someone called to report a suspicious white Jeep Cherokee had been following him/her all night. Officers were unable to locate.

2:01 a.m. Disturbance: Resident reported subjects from a nearby party on Maddux were loitering in front of his/her home. Subjects started making threats toward resident. Subjects then left in an unknown car.

2:19 a.m. - Graffiti: Occured on Broadway. Report of a group of subjects spraypainting on the wall in the parking lot. Arrest made.

4:47 a.m. - Suspicious Persons: Occured on Vera Avenue. Person lives next door to an abandoned house where she sees four subjects hanging out. Report taken.

1:23 p.m. - Disturbance/Battery: Report of a Hispanic male juvenile wearing a white shirt and black shorts hitting a Hispanic female juvenile in red pants. Officers unable to locate.

6:15 p.m. - Theft: Occured on Broadway. A woman in her 20s wearing a blue glittery dress stole seven or eight bottles of brandy and got into the passenger side of a vehicle. Vehicle drove off toward Broadway. Report taken.

7:50 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances: A person called to report that someone had been following him/her in a blue Chevy for days. Subject is unfamiliar to him/her. Report taken.

8:14 p.m. - Suspicious Person: Occured on Shannon Way. Someone called to report having seen a subject wearing all black with a hood over his head carrying a baby out of a unit with no lights on. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Sunday, Oct. 21

2:49 p.m. - Disturbance: Report of two white male transients in the parking lot next to the library on Main Street setting a bonfire. 

8:37 p.m. - DUI: Occured at Ash and Cypress streets. Report of a subject in a two-door older model blue truck, appearing very intoxicated, revving engine. Described as a Hispanic male is his mid-30s. Officers were unable to locate.

10:17 p.m. - Battery: A store owner called to report a fight between a customer and an employee, with one of them using a steel bar. Report taken.

10:45 p.m. - Disturbance: Occured on Veterans Boulevard. A manager called to report that he had been told that there is a male transient out in front of the store "doing very inappropriate things." The man is described as being around 5'5" with long hair and wearing a sweatshirt.
