Arrest Made in Cedarwood Way Burglaries

Items stolen from the two homes included a handgun, computers and other electronics.

Redwood City police have arrested a suspect for burglarizing two residences in the 1100 block of Cedarwood Way last month, on Sept. 25.

The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Jose Silva of East Palo Alto.

Police said Monday one of the homes Silva burglarized had a security camera that captured images of him, and allowed police to identify him.

The next day, Redwood City Police detectives obtained and served a search warrant at Silva’s residence in East Palo Alto. Detectives recovered property that was stolen from both of the residences, including a handgun, computers, and electronics equipment.

Silva was not present when the search warrant was served. Detectives obtained a felony arrest warrant for Silva.

This past Friday, Oct. 5., a Redwood City police officer and a reserve police officer located Silva while conducting a patrol check at Sequoia Station. Silva was taken into custody without incident.

Silva was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for two counts of residential burglary.
