Tacone offers Fresh, Quick Cuisine on Broadway

Often overshadowed by its more famous neighbor , , offers a diverse menu of American and ethnic specialties with a flavorful twist.

Try the Gourmet Wraps, served with a side of seasoned potato chips.

The “Thai Cone” wrap ($6.69), comes with Grilled Cicken, Jasmine Rice, Peanut Sauce and Thai Cucumber salad.

Or taste one of the sandwiches such as the United Steak of America ($7.29), Filet Mignon, Caesar Salad, Melted Jack and Rosemary-Chilli Mayo.

Included in every meal is unlimited stops at the “Flavor Bar”, consisting of a dozen different sauces that can be added to any entrée. The “Creamy Bangkok Peanut Sauce” is particularly delicious.

Also on the menu are smoothies, made with fat-free frozen yogurt. Take a sip of the “Pink Flamingo” smoothie ($4.49), made with bananas, mangos, strawberries, passion fruit, guava, orange and pineapple.

Robin Lal, the owner and manager, stresses Tacone’s use of fresh and locally grown ingredients.

Lal, who started the business in 2007, formerly worked in a deli but wanted to start his own place.

Now, in addition to serving to the lunch and theatre-going crowd, Tacone also caters to surrounding businesses.

Tacone Flavor Grill is open Monday through Thursday from 11am to 9pm and Friday and Saturday from 11am to 10pm.
