Inspiring Change at Sofitel San Francisco Bay

Sofitel San Francisco Bay will inspire change March 7 – 8, as they

celebrate International Women’s Day, with roses and cocktails. Keeping in line

with the official United Nations theme, Inspiring
Change, Sofitel San Francisco Bay
hopes to challenge the status of women’s equality and encourage advocacy for
women’s advancement by honoring the women of Sofitel San Francisco Bay and
guests on this special day. Sofitel San Francisco joins Accor
worldwide in celebrating this initiative, and will mark the occasion with local
treats. Executive Chef Alejandro Abad will create decadent desserts for female
visitors both days, and Bay Bar will mix special cocktails for the
occasion—both aptly named “I am Woman.” The hotel will also provide female
guests with pink roses, and will highlight any Le Club female members that come
in during this time.

Since the first International Women’s
Day (IWD) was celebrated in 1911, many events that mark the economic, political
and social achievements of women have taken place across the world. Originally
referred to as International Working Women’s Day, IWD is an official public holiday in some countries, and in others, is observed as an equivalent to
Mother’s Day.
