We follow the (NADA ) National Acupuncture Detoxification Association

protocol for auricular acupuncture treatment. It is a protocol of 5

points done in the ear to help remove toxins from the body which in turn

helps to reduce stress as well as reduce the impact that toxic

substances can have on the function of the body. The points that are

used are Sympathetic which is our stress response, Shen Men or Mind Gate

which helps us to relax in our mind, body, and soul. The kidney, liver,

and lung are detox organs in terms of physiology and function and in

terms of chinese medicine are related to the emotions of fear, anger,

stress and grief. By using these points we can increase the ability of

the body to expel toxic substances as well as treat the emotional

underlying causes of abuse and addiction.

NADA is intentionally done in a group setting as it has been shown

that collective healing increases the likelihood of recovery from

addictive behaviors and the feeling of a support group helps with

continued success. In terms of Chinese medicine the collective energy

(Qi) of the group helps to balance out the negative or evil Qi that

people experience as they deal with the root cause of their addiction

and stress.
