The first question to ask is, what are you looking for in your next move? Smaller home possibly? Would you like a single family or town home as you want to travel more?
Also something to think about is your day to day lifestyle. Do you like to do outdoor activities like golf, tennis, hiking, swimming, biking etc? The list goes on. Or do you spend time indoor more doing crafts or reading. Are there restaurants within walking distance? Are there medical resources nearby? What’s the weather like throughout the year? Is it hot, hot, hot!!!? Great if you like that. Overall, these are just some of the questions to ask yourself.
This information can be found by spending a lot of time researching the internet. But a great way to experience the area and learn about it is through the eyes of a local real estate agent. They can get you all this information and more. You can explore neighborhoods and learn about the community first hand. To find a great agent, ask for a referral. Agents network with other agents and are happy to recommend someone who can help you and give you the same level of service they would if they were helping you themselves. Don’t let not knowing about an area keep you from exploring it. You may find out quickly it’s not for you. Or you may find it’s the perfect place to spend the next next phase of your life.
