Woodside Man Found Guilty of Murdering Wife

The San Mateo County District Attorney announced Thursday that a man accused of murdering his wife for her multimillion dollar insurance policy was found guilty.

Woodside resident Pooroushasb “Peter” Parineh was found guilty of murder for financial gain under special circumstances, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

“The defendant faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole,” Wagstaffe said in a statement.

Parineh was accused of killing his wife to benefit from her $30 million life insurance policy, although the possibility that she had committed suicide was debated.

The case was continued to July 12, 2013 for a sentencing hearing.
