Earthquake Hits Peninsula

The quake was reported at 12:26 p.m. Friday.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.7 was reported Friday afternoon off the coast of Daly City, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor was reported at 12:26 p.m. with its epicenter about 7 miles west northwest of Daly City, according to the USGS.

The quake had a depth of about 4.5 miles.

The business A Love of Learning replied to Patch's tweet asking if anyone had felt the earthquake, saying, "Yes! I thought I was crazy! Our power is out here in San Mateo."
