What Should Replace the Former Charm's Cookies?

Charm's Chocolate Chip Cookies on El Camino has shut down. What new business should replace it?

Redwood City lost one of its local businesses recently. Charm's Chocolate Chip Cookies, formerly at 701 El Camino Real, has closed its shutters for good.

Charm's was only in business for about three years, according to its Yelp.com page. While there was the occasional bad review, most Yelpers seemed to love the store's chocolate chip, lemon and snickerdoodle cookies and cupcakes.

Now that Charm's is no more, Patch wants to know - what type of business would you like to see open up in its place? What does this stretch of El Camino, home to House of Humor, Sodini's bar and other businesses - need to make it complete?

Tell us in the comments below!

I pass that site daily and feel sad that no establishment has succeeded on that corner. Previous to the cookie store there was a New Age restaurant/book store that also failed. What I selfishly would like to see there is a Haagen Daz Ice Cream Shop as the closest one is in Palo Alto. Perhaps a flower shop would do well. Sadly, another restaurant might not fare well in that location and unfortunately the parking is also a problem; I do not believe there are many parking spaces surrounding that area. I would really rather see some kind of store there then offices.

I don't think anything can do well there. There is no parking close by. It is a terrible location for any kind of establishment!

I am unclear on how the writer drew the conclusion that this cookie shop had been in business for three years. The first Yelp review was posted in February 2009 and the last in July 2009. It would appear this cookie outfit was in business for about 5 months 3 years ago.

Maybe a good massage parlor would work as they would not need alot of parking.

That was my impression as well, I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a business in there for years.

Sorry if there was any confusion. I was given the impression that the business had just closed recently, but it appears that it may actually have closed quite some time ago. At any rate, we just wanted to start a dialogue among readers about what kind of business they would welcome in that spot and would like to see open up. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed! It would be cool to have a coffee house there, but the parking is just so undesirable.
