Watch: RWC Baskin Robbins/Togo's Grand Re-Opening

City welcomes a new business owner and remodeled eateries.

Yes, that was a party you saw on El Camino Real in Redwood City on Saturday afternoon. And the setting was perfect-- gorgeous autumn day, cheerleaders, music, balloons, free sandwiches and ice cream, VIPs and a dancing ice cream cone. And to top it all off, a $500 donation was made to the Redwood City Education Foundation.

The Redwood City Togo's and Baskin Robbins re-opened with a bang and a ribbon cutting on Saturday as franchisee owner Letha Tran welcomed the community to the newly remodeled eateries located at 1501 El Camino Real.

The timing couldn't be better---just weeks before the start of the holiday shopping season and winter break at local schools, Tran says she wanted to celebrate the store's remodel and introduce the new employees and products to the community.

Tran, who transitioned from the corporate world of human resources, says she has received great support from the stores' operations manager Ladena Stewart and field marketing manager Kristen Agin.

I love coming to work---and I have great employees and two great brands," said Tran between cutting the ribbon and visiting with patrons.

Following the ribbon cutting, Tran presented two $250 checks to the Redwood City Education Fund.

"I wanted to do something to support the Redwood City community, and with Togo's and Baskin Robbins being family brands, the education foundation seemed like the right place." said Tran. She added that she plans to do more charity work and continue to support local non-profits like the Redwood City Education Fund.

Redwood City councilmembers Barbara Pierce and Jeff Gee were on hand for the ribbon cutting festivities.

"I was blown away by all the great businesses moving into our city," said Gee, ice cream cone in hand.

The new Togo's/Baskin Robbins is open daily 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
