PG&E Working on Pipes In Redwood City

Crews will be venting gas to reduce pipeline pressure as part of a larger project.

Pacific Gas & Electric crews will be working on pipelines in Redwood City on Saturday to complete work that began on Friday.

Crews will be releasing gas from the pipes located at the intersection of Bradford and Jefferson on Saturday, July 27, starting at 6 a.m.  This is being done to alleviate pressure inside of the pipes to facilitate the relocation of a gas main on Walnut Street between Veterans Blvd & Bradford Street. The work is being done as part of a pipeline modernization project, elements of which some politicians do not endorse.

PG&E expects work to conclude by 3 p.m.  Redwood City residents and visitors can expect to smell the odor of natural gas and hear mechanical noises.
