PG&E Venting Gas North of Emerald Hills

Pacific Gas & Electric will be venting natural gas near Redwood City on Monday as part of a commercial station upgrade project, a PG&E Spokesman told Patch.

People nearby may hear mechanical noises that sound like engines and smell natural gas, said Jason King, PG&E Spokesperson.

Crews will be venting natural gas from the pipes to depressurize them.  Then they will be installing air movers to the ends of them to keep air flowing through them.  The work will be taking place between the hours of 1 p.m. and 11p.m. northwest of the intersection of 280 and Edgewood Road, King said. Work is expected to conclude Monday, barring complications.
