New Restaurant Sabor Colibri Suprises and Delights

Ladda's Thai may be no more, but what has replaced it is delighting Redwood City diners.

Thai food lovers may be disappointed to learn that Ladda's Thai in downtown Redwood City has closed.

However, many are finding a pleasant surprise in what now sits in its place - brand new restaurant, Sabor Colibri.

Particularly with the recent , fans of Mexican food can't seem to say enough good things about Sabor's delicious food, heaping portions, and reasonable prices.

However, the menu is not limited to Mexican dishes - you'll also find many entrees from many other types of international cuisine, as well.

"There are so many dishes to choose from - some Mexican, some Cuban, some Puerta Rican, and all tasty," wrote Corinne K. of Redwood City on the restaurant's Yelp.com page.

Corinne raved about the complimentary items brought to her table upon being seated, as well.

"Before you even order, they bring you chips and salsa as well as a delicious guacalmole dip and a bean dip," she wrote. "Then comes a complimentary bowl of soup!  Then they take your order."

"[Sabor Colibri] should be on everyone's list. The prices are not to be beat.  My entree was only $8 and I had to get a doggy bag," she continued. "So, let's support our new restaurants and keep this gem around!"

In addition to the range of cuisine choices, many of the restaurant's earliest customers - Sabor Colibri just opened the first week of December - are raving about the freshness and quality of the food.

"The quality of the food motivates me to give an unequivocal five stars," wrote Yelp.com fan James L. of Redwood City. "Stop by and check out their menu when you can; they have a definite South American influence in their selection that is a welcome change-up from the usual places downtown."

Customers are complimenting the friendliness of the wait staff and chef, as well.

"My highest compliments to the chef, who really enjoys pleasing the palates of all of his customers!" wrote reviewer Yolanda G.

Sabor Colibri is located at 2053-B Broadway St. in downtown Redwood City. Call 650-364-3430.

I agree, the public has the right to know what they are eating. It is absurd to be purchasing foodRead More that contains GMOs and not be able to know it is in the food.... why the secret if it is so safe??? I will not shop at any food stores that refuse to provide the public with information on what I am eating or serving to the people I care about. Trader Joes and Whole Foods have my loyalty for having the courage to stand up against the big guys and set an example by doing what is right for the consumer and not folding to pressure from Monsanto, Dupont and the other corporate giants that could care less about our safety and only care about how much money they can rake in.
