New Patch Editor To Host Office Hours in Redwood City

Meet her in person and help her learn about your community.

My name is Vanessa.  I’m the new Editor of Redwood City-Woodside Patch. I’ve been living and working in the Bay Area for about four years now, but I’m not as familiar with the Redwood City community as you are.

Come hang out with me at Café La Tartine on Wednesday between noon and 2:30 p.m.

I’d love to talk to you about what’s going on in Redwood City and Woodside over a cup of joe.

If you can't make it out during those times, share your thoughts with me in a comment on this post.

I can't wait to meet you!

In the meantime, stay Patched in.

How wonderful that you'll have "office hours"--I'm not able to come either this Monday or Wednesday, but hope you'll be able to have more! I was hoping that Patch would run a piece on the changes SamTrans is planning to implement in June. Several routes are being changed to service morning and afternoon school traffic only, meaning that they won't run when school is in session (including summer vacation and holidays)--this will effectively end certain lines' utility for seniors or others without a car. The last day for public comment to SamTrans is today, but perhaps a Patch story would increase our awareness, and also help advertise some routes that SamTrans is continuing to support despite lower than capacity usage (e.g., the KX that goes to SFO, and some lines that go into SF). Thank you! I'm looking forward to meeting you soon.

Nice to virtually meet you too, Tamara. I look forward to meeting you in person on Wednesday and hearing more about this.

Hi Nada, I am sorry that you can't come to the one's I'm holding this week. I am considering hosting office hours on a regular basis. Stay tuned! Thank you for the news tip about the SamTrans changes. I will look into this. If you'd like to talk more about this, email me, so we can find a time to talk about it. <vanessa at patch dot com>

Don't worry it only takes about 3 weeks and your a local. PS. don't know where your from but you will stand out like a sore thumb if you say "Frisco" instead of the complete "San Francisco". Can't make it to "Latrine" but I suspect no one will care anyway...

lol Duly noted, Buck. Next week, I'm going to hold office hours at Back Yard Coffee Company on Brewster. You should come by and say hi. I'll post the times that I'll be there in our community event calendar here on Patch.

Welcome to your new job and thanks for making yourself available. I can't come this Wednesday, but I hope you'll do this regularly. One concern I have is the combination of Woodside and Redwood City into one Patch. These are two very different communities with very different interests. I'd like the old Redwood City Patch back. Let Woodside have their own too.

Thanks, Chip. It feels good to be here. I plan on hosting office hours on a regular basis. I'll talk to my colleagues about splitting Woodside and Redwood City into two Patches.

Hi Vanessa! Welcome! I am looking forward to meeting you and working on creative ways to promote events and activities in Redwood City! I have always appreciated all of the Social Media love that you guys have given us. I will try to make it today, but if not, I will aim for the next meet-and-greet (although a Pear Galette Puff Pastry is weighing heavily on my mind all of a sudden...) - Jordana Freeman

Hi Jordana Thank you for the warm welcome! I look forward to meeting you in person and talking more about this. I'm going to be hosting office hours on Wednesdays at different shops in RWC. Stay tuned to our event calendar to find out where I'll be.
