New Redwood City Location Increased Worker Happiness, CEO Says

A new marketing start up in Silicon Valley prefers Redwood City's downtown to its former Santa Clara location.

Among the many innovative startups emerging in Silicon Valley, a marketing firm that targets prospective buyers through both inbound and outbound marketing techniques is truly genius.

Genius was founded by David Thompson and Robert Seidl in Santa Clara in 2005. Sam Weber took over as CEO in March 2011 and moved the company to Redwood City in June 2012. He now lives here with his family, and his children who attend Redwood City schools.

Genius is a company that specializes in marketing. Not only does Genius have marketing options for many large scale businesses that are prevalent in the Silicon Valley area, but it has a branch for marketing on a smaller scale as well.

Genius.com offers startups a solution that actually helps build a business at a cost that makes sense for their early stage,” said Weber. As these businesses grow Genius has an additional plan for them.

“We also help larger companies like Intuit, Webex and others with their Marketing needs,” said Weber.

Because Genius.com is located in a downtown area, team members tend to perform better due to an overall better working environment.

“The office [located on Broadway] actually improved sales because the team is so much happier in the downtown atmosphere,” said Weber.

Redwood City is always growing in regards to small businesses, and Genius.com is now thriving in its new downtown venue.

“I think many startups are looking for more interesting locations to operate their businesses and downtown locations offer a lot of benefits,” said Weber. “The proximity to public transit, easy access to a wide variety of services and restaurants make team members happy.”

“I am very excited to have Genius Doing business here,” said Weber.
