Ground Breaking Today for RWC's Largest Development Since Theatre Way

Upon completion in 2015, Crossing 900 will bring 1,000 more employees to downtown Redwood City. It is located on Middlefield Road adjacent to the Caltrain station.

Crossing 900, the largest development since the completion of the Theatre Way project, will commence construction on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. A formal ground breaking ceremony will take place at the project site at noon on Friday, November 8, 2013

Located on Middlefield Road, adjacent to the Redwood City Caltrain station, and across from the Theatre Way retail/cinema complex, Crossing 900 is a key component of the vision contained in the Downtown Precise Plan according to city officials. That plan has helped ignite what is considered a renaissance of Redwood City's downtown.

According to a media release, Crossing 900 will be a mid-rise office building consisting of 300,000 square feet of brand new Class A office space, approximately 5,000 square feet of retail/restaurant space, more than 900 covered parking spaces, and the capacity to accommodate up to 1,000 employees once completed in 2015.

"Crossing 900 will be another signature project that makes Downtown Redwood City the downtown on the entire Peninsula," exclaims Mayor Alicia Aguirre.

"It is yet another reminder that we are no longer the sleepy Redwood City of yesterday. Employers want to set up shop here, employees want to work in a bustling downtown that is next to every mode of public transportation, and residents and visitors alike want to shop, dine, and celebrate our cultural events at Courthouse Square. Crossing 900 will add to the fabric of downtown and everything the City has to offer."
