Downtown Road Reopens in Redwood City

The City of Redwood City announced that drivers will be able to cruise through Middlefield Road onto Winslow Street again on Monday.

The contractor working on the first phase of the Redwood Tower project said the construction fencing would be removed, enabling vehicles to drive through once more.

Crews had been working since October 2012 to relocate a drainage pipe to prepare for that new mid-rise office building.

Work on the Redwood Tower project is expected to take about 30 months to complete, according to the City of Redwood City's Planning Department.
