Best Local Places to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

See what Patch readers have said on the subject.

Green beer, corned beef and cabbage, wearing all green, some good Irish or Celtic tunes - if nothing else, St. Patrick's Day is a unique pseudo-holiday.

So, where's your favorite local place to ring in St. Patty's Day?

We asked Patch readers that question during our Readers' Choice voting last year - and here's what they had to say.

In Redwood City, the 840 Wine Bar & Cocktail Lounge won with roughly 60 percent of the votes.

From the story:

"Known for its cocktails, 840 Wine Bar & Cocktail Lounge is perfect for serving up that refreshing cucumber cooler or pomegranate martini after having too many mugs of Guinness.

The plush atmosphere is perfect for lounging with friends, and the music picks up later in the night so you can try out your new dancing shoes.

In the comments, Berta Garcia Suarez said it was the 'place to go' and the new 'hot spot' in Redwood City."

Elsewhere on the Peninsula, here's what venues readers voted as their favorites:

Burlingame: Behan’s Irish Pub, 1327 Broadway
