Wood-Fired Pizza Blazes into Redwood City

Vesta, a trendy pizza restaurant, opens its doors on Broadway.

Nestled at the end of Broadway St. next to , Vesta, an authentic wood-fired pizza restaurant, opened its doors earlier this summer.

“It is the first of its kind- a family run, mom-and-pop restaurant,” said the owners Peter and Courtney Borrone. The space at 2022 Broadway has been owned by the family since the site was home of the original Cafe Borrone now located in Menlo Park.

The Borrones began renovations on the location in April of 2011.

“Our desire was to create an atmosphere that has a ‘city vibe,'” said Borrone. “From the floor, to the countertops, to the paint of the walls, we were thoughtful in everything we did. We hope to create an environment that excites the mind and spirit and leaves the guest with a memorable experience.”

Vesta's trendy atmosphere and collection of delicious flavors do indeed make for a memorable dining experience.

"The owners have created a beautiful space and a menu full of unique flavor combinations," said Katie M. The decor itself mirrors the quality food and service. The restaurant is artfully decorated with Tuscan tiles and colors, and embellished with hardwood and elegant tables and chairs. The unique menu choices offer endless variety with the highly reccomended sausage and honey pizza as well as the hazelnut arugula salad.

“We specialize in handcrafted wood-fired pizzas and dynamic, flavorful small plates,” said Borrone. “ We thoroughly enjoy the dining experience and hope that our guests are able to indulge and enjoy the many different flavors and plate combinations at Vesta.”

The owners believe that Vesta will thrive in Redwood City, and the Borrone restaurant business will continue to flourish on the peninsula.

“This is such a beautiful town with so much character and there is a lot of community desire to support local business,” said Borrone. “Redwood City is the new hot spot on the peninsula and we are so excited to be here.”

I agree, the public has the right to know what they are eating. It is absurd to be purchasing foodRead More that contains GMOs and not be able to know it is in the food.... why the secret if it is so safe??? I will not shop at any food stores that refuse to provide the public with information on what I am eating or serving to the people I care about. Trader Joes and Whole Foods have my loyalty for having the courage to stand up against the big guys and set an example by doing what is right for the consumer and not folding to pressure from Monsanto, Dupont and the other corporate giants that could care less about our safety and only care about how much money they can rake in.
