ARTS RWC: Nominations for the Diamond Awards are open NOW! And you or someone you know, deserves one. Read all about it!

YO Redwood City!

In my relentless efforts to bring more art, art events and art consciousness to Redwood City, I have formed and become parts of several endeavors and organizations to realize my dreams.  Some you have heard me mention here before, Honeybear Prints (my own business), ARTS RWC (dedicated to making RWC a destination for the arts), RWC Parks and Arts Foundation (a new endeavor -and very exciting) and today's spotlight:  The Peninsula Arts Council (serving San Mateo County).

I am on the Board of this amazing organization,  which has a Mission to "advance the arts in San Mateo County."  The Peninsula Arts Council (PAC) has three key Areas of Focus that have long-term benefits for San Mateo County: public art, arts in education, and developing San Mateo County into a destination for the arts, parks and culture.

The Diamond Awards, our signature event, recognizes people and organizations in our community, our city, and our county that make a difference by supporting the arts and artists.  Redwood City has been well represented with multiple Diamond Award Recipients, including Parks and Rec, Redevelopment, San Mateo Credit Union, and Studio S.

And NOW is your chance to get involved and nominate a teacher, a student, an artist, a volunteer or a business that creates or supports the arts and makes our lives better for a Diamond Award.  The stories of the Diamond Award recipients are always so inspiring!  We all know someone who does amazing work and deserves to win a Diamond Award.  Read on for all the info and DO GET INVOLVED!!

So why do you keep voting for bigger Government? Seems the consumers have solved the problemRead More without "It's" help.

This is a much more effective means for dealing with the issue. Legislation is not.

I agree, the public has the right to know what they are eating. It is absurd to be purchasing foodRead More that contains GMOs and not be able to know it is in the food.... why the secret if it is so safe??? I will not shop at any food stores that refuse to provide the public with information on what I am eating or serving to the people I care about. Trader Joes and Whole Foods have my loyalty for having the courage to stand up against the big guys and set an example by doing what is right for the consumer and not folding to pressure from Monsanto, Dupont and the other corporate giants that could care less about our safety and only care about how much money they can rake in.
