As details get finalized, stay right here for all the exciting information….yes, that was a tease….a shameless tease.

Love is in the ART
Paintings by Johane Amirault - Contemporary Artist
January 20 - February 28
Meet Johane:
Johane, like many of us, sees life as polarity -- two opposite emotions that can exist simultaneously taking their turn in being dominant and dormant as life presents itself. Johane manages to paint them with vibrant colors and unique brush strokes, utilizing a technique of layering the paint on canvas much like humans have a way of layering our experiences, good and bad, to become who we are. Who we are today can be different from who we will be tomorrow, just as one painting is different than the next painting she creates.
Johane explains her creative process: “I paint intuitively, but every painting has a story; a story that overflows with emotions. One day I paint flowers blooming and dancing for my mother, for a sick friend who has cancer or sometimes just to say hello to the world! Another day, I paint the ocean, its extreme beauty and complexity, its abundance and its harmony. And when I paint the figure, I ponder on who we are; I ponder on our complex emotions…I surrender to the process. It’s liberating, and secretly I choose to believe that perhaps I am sending all this creative energy to the world, to heal and to inspire.”
Don't miss this event! This is sure to be an exciting opening. For more info: Unleashed Art Gallery, 2744 Broadway St., Redwood City, CA

Sequoia Art Group announces a Call for Artists
RWC LIBRARY JURYING will take place on Friday, January 31st for this bi-annual jurying for artists who wish to exhibit at the Downtown RWC Library during 2014 and 2015. These 2 month duration exhibit slots are in addition to the usual Jan-Feb. and July-Aug. exhibit slots assigned to Sequoia Art Group members each year.
Drop off your work from 7 to 7:25 PM at the Veterans Memorial Bldg., 1455 Madison Ave, Redwood City.
If it is raining that evening you may bring 2-4 4” x 6” color photos of your artwork instead of actual paintings or photographs. The art/photography you show for jurying does not have to be exhibited later should you be chosen. You will know that evening if you have been selected but will not receive your exhibit dates for a few weeks afterward via mail. For more info, visit http://sequoiaartgroup.comMORE Sequoia Art Group
Another member advantage of SAG, is that artists get to sign up to exhibit their work in various Redwood City venues. As a result, yours truly is part of a group of artists who have their work hanging in City Hall. Also included are the paintings of Catherine Delfs.
You can view my six framed photographs on the second floor, outside of the City Attorney’s Office. Drop me a line and let me know what you think.
Whew, I told you there was A LOT going on right here, right now. GO SEE ART!
And remember to Always Follow your H’art!
