ARTSRWC: ART on the Square Postcard is here & T-Shirt Contest update, and a really BIG event happening "on the Square."
YO REDWOOD CITY!
The Redwood City Sizzling Summer Events are almost upon us. YAY! ART on the Square is gearing up for our 7th Summer of Fun. Our brand new postcard is HERE! You should be able to pick one up in various downtown establishments, and will undoubtedly see our colorful 11x17 posters around town as well.
And, right here! Right now! I will tell you all the dates, and, yes, the BANDS that will be sharing the spotlight with us. Make sure to get these on the “to do “ list, because you won’t wanna miss a minute.
2013 Art on the Square dates:
- June 14 with Music on the Square featuring Kenny Metcalfs Elton John tribute, 5-8:30 PM
- July 12, Jewelry on the Square with Music on the Square featuring Surfin Safari, 5-8:30 PM
- July 26 with Music on the Square and the PAL Blues, ART & BBQ Festival featuring The West Coast Soul/Blues Review featuring - Pam Hawkins, Roman Carter and Jackie Payne, 5-8:30 PM
- July 27-28 - the PAL Blues, ART & BBQ Festival…bands/times TBA
- August 23 with Music on the Square featuring Journey Revisited, 5-8:30 PM

Event T-Shirt update
Yes, we do have a winner for our first annual Summer Event T-Shirt Contest. And the design ROCKS! The contest was a joint venture between ARTS RWC and the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation. I know you wanna know all about it, know who the mystery winner is, see the fabulous design and get your very own t-shirt to support the downtown events, and, let’s face it, to be lookin’ GOOD.
So, here is the plan. Didja know there will be a HUGE kickoff for the Friday Night Concerts? Well, here are the details:
FRIDAY NIGHT CONCERT SERIES PREVIEW NIGHT!
On Friday, May 31, 6:00-8:00pm, on Courthouse Square there will be an event organized by Steve Penna and Friends.
At this fabulous event we will unveil the award winning t-shirt design for the very first time. And yes, you can buy one RIGHT THERE. But wait, there is more, a lot more! There will be MUSIC, DANCING, FOOD (featuring our local restaurants!), BEVERAGES (the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation will be selling Beer and Wine to also raise monies to continue the Friday Night Concert series) and YOU!
WHO IS INVITED: Anyone who wants to support the Friday Night Concert series and make sure with our support that they will continue this and next year. Please invite your family and community friends!
DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE: Donations are requested but not required to attend. Suggested donations are: $25 per person. There will be different donation levels offered, so do join us and plan on having a blast while supporting your community. And now you know it all.
To recap: be on the lookout and pick up the new ART on the Square Postcard, and make sure you come out on May 31st for the Friday Night Concert Series Preview to support the downtown events, see the fabulous new Summer Event t-shirt, buy the shirt and have BIG FUN dancing, eating, and enjoying a beverage of choice with your family and friends.
