We interrupt this news to bring you a timely and necessary ART RANT:

This is a wonderful exhibit and I have to say, once again, how lucky we are to have such an abundance of creativity and talent in our midst.

For me, perhaps because I have shown in many Art & Wine shows, and, of course, produced the ART on the Square shows, there is a deep appreciation for ART in many forms.  While I have a “good eye” and can take lovely photographs, I am in awe of anyone who can weave, do glasswork, dance, act in a play, make ceramics, paint a mural, write a poem, sing the blues or do printmaking, to name a few.  Creativity flows from every one of us, and the end results are often stunning!  And without each and every one, life would be empty, colorless and diminished.

That is why, when I formed ARTS RWC over four years ago, there is a very big “S”.  My vision is for RWC to be a destination for the art-Severyone represented, every one creating and expressing and exhibiting their work here!  And, I truly believe we are on the cusp of that vision manifesting right here, and soon!

How can you help?   Glad you asked!  GO SEE ART.  Support your local arts and artists.  Go see a play at Dragon Theatre.  Stop by The Main Gallery or the new Unleashed Gallery and attend an opening of new exhibits.  Buy work from the artists showing at ART on the Square.   Check out the annual Spring Show put on by our own Sequoia Art Group.  Go see the Wednesday night Blues Jam at Club Fox.  Attend a workshop at SWA Gallery.  Take lessons at the Redwood City Art Center and make ART!  And, if you share the same passion for ART in RWC, join us at the table for ARTS RWC where we are all about ARTS in RWC and could use your help.  See? The possibilities are endless….we hope to see you – SOON!

We now return you to your regular blog, and the following inspirational message:

YO REDWOOD CITY, remember to Always Follow your H’ART!!!!!
