Watch Award-Winning Water Documentary "Flow" or Enjoy the P.A.L. Blues Festival

Experts have called it the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st century: the world’s dwindling water supply. Come join The Sierra Club at 6:15 p.m. for a light dinner then the showing of the award-winning documentary “Flow” at 7 p.m. at the Redwood City Downtown Library’s 3rd floor community room.

 

Wednesday, July 20

This week’s Storytime in the Park is at Shorebird Pak on Marine Parkway/Island Drive at 10 a.m. You and your kids will thrill to fun stories read master storyteller Jim Howland. You’ll discover new parks you may not have visited before, enjoy great stories, and meet new friends. No registration, no reservations, just show up and have a great time!

 

Looks like the summer weather is here to stay, so enjoy it at this week’s “Music in the Park” featuring the blues group “Blue State.” Blue State mixes elements of jazz, funk and soul to create an eclectic sound that will be sure to delight fans of all music. The show is at Stafford Park and begins at 8 p.m.

It’s summertime, but you’re still unable to relax. Fine inner calm with best-selling author Marshall Zaslove, M.D.’s presentation “Cool Your Mind with Meditation.” The presentation based on the best-selling Inner and Outer Peace through Meditation by Rajinder Singh is at 7 p.m. at the Downtown Library.

 

Friday, July 22

Today kicks off the sixth annual PAL Blues, Arts, & BBQ Festival at Courthouse Square! It all benefits the Redwood City Police Activities League, so you’ll have a great time in the sun, and be helping this wonderful organization. The event starts Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continues into Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

I agree, the public has the right to know what they are eating. It is absurd to be purchasing foodRead More that contains GMOs and not be able to know it is in the food.... why the secret if it is so safe??? I will not shop at any food stores that refuse to provide the public with information on what I am eating or serving to the people I care about. Trader Joes and Whole Foods have my loyalty for having the courage to stand up against the big guys and set an example by doing what is right for the consumer and not folding to pressure from Monsanto, Dupont and the other corporate giants that could care less about our safety and only care about how much money they can rake in.
