Roy Cloud School is proud to present Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. from November 22 - 24, 2013.

Based on the popular film of the same name, which was in turn adapted from a French fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of a prince who is transformed into a hideous beast as punishment for his cruel and selfish ways, and an adventurous young woman named Belle whom he imprisons in his castle. In order to become human again, will the Beast be able to earn Belle's love before it's too late?  Find out as 85 children from Kindergarten through 8th grade perform Disney classics that children and adults alike all know and love in this moving musical.

Well-known Bay Area Director Maureen McVerry, who has produced six shows in partnership with Roy Cloud, says the message of this classic story "resonates throughout time" and is a constant reminder "not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within."

Beauty and the Beast Jr. is the second production for show producer and Roy Cloud parent, Kathy Smith.

"This show was truly a collaboration with many local Redwood City schools and the San Carlos Children's Theater who let us raid their costume, set and props collections," said Smith.

"Without their assistance, and the support of the Roy Cloud PTO, numerous stage moms and dads and the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission, we would not have had the opportunity to put on this spectacular show."
