The second annual Bay Area Belly Festival took over Angelica's Bistro Sunday with colorful dance and music.

Redwood City's Angelica's Bistro resembled a harem for the 2nd Annual Bay Area Belly Festival on Sunday, where the dance and music flowed continuously throughout the afternoon.

Belly dancing is a colorful art form derived in part from near-eastern folk dances. The dancers and muscians, while skilled and talented, also have fun and reap healthy benefits from the non-impact execise.

The event web site provides information and links to many of the professional dance studios and workshops that were part of the festival, as well as the vendors that provided the elaborate outfits, accesories and instruments.

Meridian Band supplied live authentic music for the dancers.

I had a wonderfully GREAT time at Bay Area Belly at Angelica's Bistro in Redwood City. I loved all the dancers, music, vendors and the food was absolutely incredible!! Thank you so much to Sudeep for bringing this wonderful event to the Penninsula and close to my Half Moon Bay home. It was another fantastic year and I look forward to next year and possibly dancing myself... you are all so inspirational! To top off this incredible event, Angelica's Bistro, it's owner and people who work there are wonderful. We had drinks and a meal on the patio in the sunlight, and was able to connect with some of our belly dancing community in a relaxed and beautiful place.... Purfect!! Thank You everyone who helped to make it happen with such heart and thanks to Angelica's... one of my most favorite places to be!!
