Richard Bean & Sapo with Ruckatan and 40 Watt Hype

Dr Rock & Latin Rock, Inc. presents:

Richard Bean & Sapo plays high energy, jumping, Latin-flavored rock, pop music that leaves audiences stunned.

When Richard was in the 10th grade in Mission High School in San Francisco, he was in a band with Carlos Santana. Later he was the spark plug in a group that changed their name from the Malibus to Malo and cut and exciting first album. He composed and sang their only golden hit single "Suavecito" which climbed to the top of the national charts.

Sapo means frog in Spanish, and anyone who has heard the exciting return of Sapo will know that Sapo has to be the biggest, the most intense, and most electrifying frog in the pond!

Ruckatan Latin Tribe is composed of seven players who have all contributed to the local Latin Rock scene in the Bay Area and internationally with various Latin, Reggae and Rock acts. Ruckatan is a fusion of Latin and Reggae.

Members hailing from three different continents infuse their culture and love of their roots into this new band called Ruckatan, which includes Carlos Elizalde on Vocals and hand percussions, Jose Angel Amador on vocals and keys, Blaine Hoopes on keys and various woodwinds, Derek Rolando on congas & timbales, Brian Camara on drums & percussions, Ray Uribes on bass and Ed "Loveletter" Elizalde on guitar.

The music is very dance oriented with many Latin and Caribbean flavors.

40 Watt Hype
In the center of California, a culture that is the underbelly of LA and San Francisco. From the bass bumping out of the ’84 Cutlass to the backyard fiestas, the music of 40 Watt Hype is created—live Hip Hop cultivated from the seeds of a favorite dusty Soul record with a Latin b side.

40 Watt Hype has branched out of the San Joaquin Valley, touring all over the United States, from LA to Miami, having performed with The Roots, Ludacris and Ozomatli; have appeared on International television in both English and Spanish; been featured in major motion pictures and television networks including ABC and FOX; and have worked with Grammy Award Winning producer, Art Hodge.
