Redwood City Teens in Action Showcase

A FREE event to celebrate the positive and change-making efforts of young people in our immediate community. Everyone – teens, families, community leaders, business owners, educators, and others – is invited and encouraged to attend and join in the fun!

The program features over 20 information tables and displays by local youth leadership groups, and includes hip hop and break dance demonstrations, musical performance, live DJs and spoken word – all by local teens. Redwood City Mayor Alicia Aguirre will give the welcoming address, alongside youth Masters of Ceremonies. Fabulous raffle prizes will be offered throughout the evening.

7:00     Raffle, DJs and KBM “Shufflers”

 Participating groups include Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula – Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academy; Citizen Schools; Community Street Jam; El Centro de Libertad/The Freedom Center Youth Advisory Board; Grupo MAAC; Immigrant Youth Action Team; Kali Bay Malaysian Shufflers; Kids in Partnership Program; Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Youth and Teen Advisory Boards; Redwood City Library; Redwood Environmental Academy of Leadership (REAL); San Mateo County Youth Commission; Sequoia Teen Resource Center Youth Advisory Board; Sequoia Key Club; Sequoia Teen Wellness Center; Sequoia Union High School District’s Migrant Youth; The Dream Club; Woodside High School Octagon Club; Youth Leadership Institute – Youth Organizing San Mateo (YO! Mateo); and the Young Dreamer Network.
