Escape to 'Narnia' This Week

For the first time, ETC will hold a benefit performance Thursday evening in which tickets are only $5 if you bring a can of food for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Performers from all over San Mateo County and several local schools invite audiences to catch one of their last few performances of Narnia the Musical this weekend.

The Bay Area Educational Theater Company (ETC) has taken the popular children's classic book series, The Chronicles of Narnia, and turned it into an educational musical that promises to delight audiences of all ages.

Popular songs from the show include "Aslan's on the Move" and "Narnia (You Can't Imagine)."

ETC representatives say the production's first weekend went well, and they look forward to closing out the show this weekend with a packed house for their remaining four performances - especially this Thursday evening's performance, as it benefits the Second Harvest Food Bank.

For the first time ever, ETC is greatly discounting tickets down to only $5 each when people come with at least one canned food item to donate.

“We are very grateful for the support,” said Kathy Jackson, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank. “It will help us serve the growing number of people who are struggling to put food on the table despite the improving economy. Second Harvest provides food to nearly 250,000 people each month – that’s one in 10 people in our two-county region.”
