Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil Set for Tuesday in RWC

The event will be held at 550 County Center at 7:00 p.m.

The first and only local event for "TDOR," honoring transgender members of the community who have lost their lives, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of 550 County Center.

The event's guest speaker will be Anthony William Ross, the program director of Project Outlet. Project Outlet provides counseling, support, and education surrounding LGBT youth.

"This month, we will acknowledge National Transgender Day Of Remembrance which is the next day on Nov. 20th...honoring those who have lost their lives because of Transgender ignorance and intolerance. We will read the names of those members of the international Trans Community that have lost their lives in 2013," said organizer Jeffrey Adair in a Redwood City Patch Facebook post.

This is the first and only "TDOR" event in San Mateo County.
