Memorial Day Mass to be Celebrated at Holy Cross Cemetery
'Serving God and Country: A Memorial Day Salute to Our Heroes' will be held in Menlo Park on Monday.
Salute members of the military killed in combat during a Memorial Day ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery in Menlo Park.
The event is part of "Serving God and Country: A Memorial Day Salute to Our Heroes," a national celebration developed by the Catholic Cemetery Conference to recognize men and women who died while serving in the armed service. Active members of the military and veterans will also be honored.
The event in Menlo Park begins at 11 a.m. Monday.
“We are pleased to be participating in this heartfelt program and are glad to have the opportunity to give thanks to the military members and veterans within our community for their commitment and service," Monica Williams, Director of Cemeteries for the Archdiocese, said in a prepared statement. “We are inspired by these individuals."
There also will be Memorial Day services Monday at:
- Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma at 11 a.m.
- Mt. Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael at 11 a.m.
- Our Lady of the Pillar Cemetery in Half Moon Bay at 9:30 a.m.
