Closed for Veterans Day

What's closed around town in observance of Veterans Day on Monday, and what to expect from public transportation systems for the holiday.

 

Because Veterans Day is a federal holiday, but fell on a Sunday this year, federal, state, county and city offices are closed today (Monday).

Redwood City City Hall: Closed on Monday.

Redwood City Park and Recreation Classes: Will not be held on Monday.

Redwood City Public Library (all four): Closed on Monday.

Redwood City School District: All schools and district office closed on Monday.

Sequoia Union High School District: Closed on Monday.

Redwood City Police Department: Administrative office closed on Monday, but will respond to calls.

Redwood City Fire Department: Administrative office closed on Monday, but will respond to calls.

US Postal Service: No mail delivery on Monday.

Local Banks: Closed on Many.

Caltrain: Regular weekday schedule.

SamTrans: Regular weekday schedule with the exception of school bus routes.

BART: Regular weekday schedule, but Monday is a BART parking holiday (no parking fees).

Vanessa and ctpiazza, Buckley Stone at Pete's Harbor says it is because some time ago the CityRead More dredged near muni and ran a pipe under to spill it out at Bair Island, so it is actually the remains of rotting sea life. He knows so much about this area having been at Pete's for 20 years and knowing so much about the area the tides and the nature and land around here.
