Redwood City Police issued a code-red alert to residents of southeast Redwood City Sunday afternoon just after 12:30 p.m.
The affected locations include areas near Rolison, Broadway, Page and Bay roads.
The alert warns of high-tide just before 1:45 p.m. and possible flooding as a result.
"High tide will be at 1:42 p.m. today. This will increase the likelihood of more flooding," said the department's bulletin.
"If you are planning on leaving your residence, we recommend moving your cars from the area as soon as possible and leaving the area before high tide today," the alert said. "If you do intend to leave, remove your vehicles from your driveways and park them out of the area."
Police caution residents not to try and drive through flooded areas or streets.
"Your vehicle will stall and you will be stranded," the department said.
Sandbags are still available at 1400 Broadway, at the City of Redwood City's Corp Yard, if needed.
Officials say, residents should not call 9-1-1 regarding this alert - 9-1-1 is for emergencies only.
