St. Pat's Day in East Palo Alto
East Palo Alto will recall its Irish roots with a St. Patrick's Day dinner.
The event is slated for Saturday, March 15, at Saint Francis of Assisi Church at 1425 Bay Road.
Father Larry Goode says the area, which is now mainly composed of African-Americans, Pacific Islanders and Hispanics, was once dominated by the Irish. The Irish heritiage is witnessed by street names that include O'Connor, Donohue and Kavanaugh.
