Police, drawn guns on El Camino

Police have cordoned off a block of El Camino between Brewster and Broadway in Redwood City. Officers with automatic weapons are standing behind patrol cars. None of the officers are talking, but it appears there's something going on in a bar.
I counted three police cars and six officers. Traffic is rerouted.  Lots of people taking photos Stay tuned.

A lot more tax dollars to re-re-re-incarcerate that guy. No wonder we're being taxed literally to death keeping this scum around.

Jim, I didn't have the whole story, just that the incident was over, suspect in custody. If I had known more I would have posted more.

I was in the neighborhood there and saw the police and saw the grid-locked traffic jam (behind Yumi Yogurt) and wondered what was going on. I'm very disappointed there's no way to find out.

I can't help but wonder whether an inebriated guy hiding out in a bar overnight talking nonsense like "it'll take a SWAT team to get me to out of here" actually justifies calling in SWAT and shutting down El Camino Real for hours ... only to find out by going in that it's only an inebriated guy talking nonsense. Yeah, yeah, now queue up the "but what if it really was a heavily armed guy ready to mow down cops!?"
