The San Carlos gym is in bad shape for sure. The RWC gym was supposed to be open this spring, butRead Morel ast I heard they said Fall 2014, as Jocelyn said. Fingers crossed.

This project description is on the city'sRead Morewebsite: http://www.redwoodcity.org/phed/planning/pdf/24.H our.Fitness/24HrFitness_DISMND_2013.04.01.pdf The 47,152 sf health fitness club would be comprised of the following: 21,600 sf for the ground floor, 19,914 sf for the second floor, and 5,638 sf for the rooftop basketball court. It would be operational up to 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The proposed project would develop a 272-space surface parking lot, and would include 11 bicycle racks. The project would be landscaped with shrubs and groundcover, accent planting, bioretention planting, 67 shade trees and 17 accent trees. Development of the proposed project would result in an increase in pervious surfaces from 2 percent of the project site to 19 percent of the project site. The new 24 Hour Fitness facility would include a lap pool, steam room, locker rooms, sauna, spa, towel service, rooftop basketball courts, a Kids’ Club, personal trainers, weights, cardio equipment, and group exercise rooms. As part of the project design, a number of energy efficient design features are being incorporated to reduce energy use beyond what is required under Title 24. Up to 225 members could use the facility at one time. The club would employ up to 70 staff; however, it is anticipated that up to 30 staff members would be present during peak use hours.
